Question

How do bone growth and bone remodeling differ?

Expert Solution
Introduction

The source of structural support for the body is the bones. Bones comprise calcium and specialized bone cells forming connective tissues. Bones are joined to muscles known as the skeletal muscles and are responsible for the movement of the body parts.

The total number of bones present in the adult human body is 206 and these bone tissues are constantly repaired and mineralized. Mineralization of bones is the process by which calcium phosphate crystals get deposited in the matrix of the bone by the osteoblasts cells of the osteoid matrix. These processes are vital for the strength and functioning of bones.
