How can I introduce randomness into a program? Is there a simple method to scale up or down the rand function's output?

Recursion efficiency in Julia can be improved using memorization technique to store the values of previously computed functions. The following Fibonacci function below does not employ memorization, please change into a recursive function with memorization: function fib(n) if n==1 return 1 elseif n==2 return 1 elseif n<=0 printstyled("Invalid input",color=:red) return else return fib(n-1)+fib(n-2) end end

This is a matlab programing question: I've attached two images, one is the prompt and the other is my work. I'm stuck trying to plot the function as it goes through the for loop as the plot keeps coming up blank.  Any help would be great.

Is there a way to discard the fractional (decimal) part of a value without calling any built-in function in MATLAB? Is there a way to create an algorithm that uses loops to find the remainder after division?
