What is the federal system?
The federal system in ancient times can be seen through the Delian League, Archiac League, Peloponnesian League, and Aetolic League of the 2nd Century BC. Hellenistic Greece saw the early form of federalism. The Hellenistic period saw the cooperation of many cities and these cities gave up their sovereignty to become members of a federation. These federal systems developed more later on and could be seen through the cases of the United Provinces of Netherlands, Swiss Confederations, German Bund, and U.S.A.
