particular trait while different variants or forms of a
gene are known as alleles. For instance, a gene at a
specific locus codes for fur color in rabbits while
variation in the fur color (full color, chinchilla,
Himalayan, and albino) is attributed to presence of four
different types of alleles (C, cch, ch, c).
