Hello, May I get help with This question? I do not understand it. An explanation leading to the correct answer would be helpful.
Question: Michele M. has gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a common source of chronic pain in the United States. GERD has many causes, but one of its causes is an overproduction of stomach acid. A medical professional suggests to Michele that she manage her GERD by drinking less coffee. Since Michele drinks many cups of coffee a day, she cannot imagine how she'll get by without it, and she comes to you to complain. She says the medical doctor told her that coffee stimulates the release of a hormone called "gastrin", and that she doesn't understand why some hormone would cause her to have so much extra stomach acid. She comes to you for a deeper explanation.
