Question

Whereas each generation satisfied its own of natural resources needs without worrying about the needs of generations to come, intergenerational effects have now become more prominent requiring the current generation to speak for future generations who cannot speak for themselves them now. Explain the role of society and the State in speaking for the future generations with regards to the need for natural resources.

Expert Solution
Step 1

Our society keeps on evolving with time and more civilized people tend to bring advancement in society. With each passing generation, human beings are becoming more upgraded and technologically superior. But what is stagnant is the natural resources in the society. The rate of population increase is in geometric progression which means population grows from 2, 4, 16 like this while the rate of food production increases from 2,4,6. This creates a wide gap in society. The natural resources takes hundreds of year to get replenished while every minute population increases. A time will come when their is no natural resource to consume and a huge population to feed.
