Explain the feminist views of female delinquency. Do you agree with the feminist view? Why or Why not?
Delinquency is the term used to refer to the deviance from the legal standards of society, whether boy or girl, committed by adolescents. Simply it is the criminal act or conduct of criminal behaviour from a person who falls below the legal age of adulthood.
The term female delinquency indicates the delinquency of girls.
In the public consciousness, the word juvenile delinquency is understood mainly as an act by teenage boys. Even in statistical evidence, male offenders outnumber female delinquents. As a result, the study of antisocial behaviour by girls is not well-developed as that of boys. Similarly, the ways, extent and severity of crimes committed by girls significantly vary from that of boys.
Male delinquency often equates with vandalism, aggression, intensive rage and destructivity. At the same time, female delinquents are involved in less serious and severe crimes. Therefore, they are significant differences in the treatment and rehabilitation of male and female delinquents.
