Discuss how the war affected the different minorities in the USA?
For the racial and ethnic minorities who had immigrated in record numbers to the United States at the turn of the twentieth century, the First World War was a defining moment. Even though the vast majority of immigrants fought alongside their adopted nation on the front lines and at home, the American government repressed foreign enemies with some of the most severe oppressive tactics ever.
The Great War modified American immigration legislation, accelerated the integration of soldiers and their loved ones who were foreign-born, and had an effect on how immigrants and opposing aliens were dealt with during the WWII era.
