Discuss about The Mongols and Islam
Mongols were considered to be the most tolerant of all the existing religions at that period in the Mongol Empire. During the Genghis Khan, the followers of every religion witnessed a conversion from Christianity to Islam and Manichaeanism to Islam. The ruler Genghiz Khan waged war on Asia and acquired the designation of being the most ruthless.
At the very initial beginnings, there were very few places of worship because of people's nomadic lifestyle. But the successor of Genghis Khan, named Ogedei, ordered several infrastructure projects in the capital city of Karakorum. Many houses of worship were also opened in the capital city like the Muslim, Christian, Buddhist. The country's Yuan dynasty adopted Tibetan Buddhism and started practicing it in the eastern part of the Mongolian Empire.
