Question

Transcribed Image Text:A. DIRECTIONS: Identify the following steps in operating a PH meter. Write A if the step is for Preparing
for Calibration, B for Calibrating PH meter and C for Using PH meter. Write your answer on the space
provided before the number.
1. Place batteries on your pH meter then turn it on and allow to warm up for 30 minutes, (but
check your pH meter's operating manual for exact time).
2. Place your electrode in the buffer of 7 and begin reading allow until it is stabilized.
3. Once reading has stabilized, press the measure button.
4. Take now the electrode out of its storage solution, rinse it with distilled water and dry.
5. Rinse your electrode with distilled water, rinse and dry.
6.. Once you have chosen your buffers (pH 7- for higher, 9.21 for base, and 4 for acid samples)
allow them to reach the same temperature as the pH meter because pH readings are dependent on
temperature.
7. Once you have a stable reading, set the pH meter to the value of the buffer's pH by pressing
the measure button.
8. Clean your electrode after use.
9. Press the measure button to begin reading the pH once your electrode is placed in the
appropriate buffer.
10.5. Once your reading has stabilized, set the pH meter to the value of the buffer's pH by pressing
the measure button,
