Diagram of paramoecium?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Paramoecium is a free-living, unicellular organism that inhabits fresh water such as ponds, lakes, rivers etc. They have an outer covering on their body known as Pellicle, which is covered by some hair-like appearances known as Cilia. Cilia generally enables them to move in the water. It also consists of an opening for feeding purpose, which is known as Cytostome. Food enters through this opening with the help of cilia.

Step 2

They reproduce asexually as well as sexually by the process of binary fission and conjugation or endomixis, respectively. They have a slipper body with narrow, rounded anterior end and broader posterior end. Their cytoplasm is divided into two types - Endoplasm and Ectoplasm. Endoplasm consists of both, a large and a small nucleus.

Contractile vacuoles are present for excreting waste materials out of the body. An oral groove is also present which opens into the gullet.
