Electrical Transfomers and Rotating Machines 4th, Chapter 8 Review question 10. The secondary has a line voltage of 480v going into a delta with 6ohm loads. I took the line voltage from the wye transformer and treated it as a phase voltage to the load since the load is in delta. That gives me 480v/6ohms = 80amps but since the load is in delta I multiplied the 80a by 1.732 to account for the additional current caused by the other two loads in delta giving me my answer of 138.6amps for the line current. Then since the transformer is in wye I treated the line current equal to the phase current giving me 138.6amps in the secondary winding.arrow_forward
