During aging, walls of the arterioles and arteries become thicker, less flexible,and also the space that is present in the artery slightly expands,and elastic tissues are lost from the arteries and arterioles wall.
Blood vessels’ function during aging: General function of blood vessels isto transport blood, nutrients and during aging, the thickening & stiffening of blood vessels will increase the blood pressure which will make our heart work harder and the baroreceptors become less sensitive.
Blood vessel’s durability during aging: During aging the wall of the blood vessels will lose their flexibility or become less elastic and getting stiffen. This will hinder the vasodilation and vasocontraction processes.
