The human brain is a complex part of the human body. It weighs about 1.5 kg. In men, it is somewhat larger than women. Almost all the functions of human body are performed by the brain so it is sometimes also called 'command center' of the body. Anatomically ,the brain consists of major three parts:
- Forebrain also called prosencephalon.
- Midbrain also known as mesencephalon.
- Hindbrain also known as rhombencephalon
Forebrain is the largest part of the brain and includes cerebrum and Diencephalon whileHindbrain consists of pons,cerebellum and medulla.
