Hair is made of keratin, which is also present in nails as well, In hair, keratin molecules are arranged in straight bundles. These bundles are held together by disulphide bonds (-S-S-), which has a function of giving strength to the hair. These disulphide bonds present in the hair strand is made up of an amino acid known as cysteine.
