Question

Please provide a detailed and clear explanation according to what question asked. Also, please provide a relevant diagram.

Controlled oxidation of alkane is a reaction in which alkanes are heated
in a regulated supply of oxygen to produce carboxylic acid and water in
the presence of catalyst. Supposed that you are tasked to conduct
thermodynamics analysis to determine the spontaneity and suitable
temperature of the reaction, prepare a proposal based on the guideline
given below and limit your proposal to 3 pages.
Title:
Thermodynamics analysis of controlled oxidation of alkanes
Reaction equation:
Select an alkane and a carboxylic acid of your choice based on
TABLE Q2 below and write the balance equation for the control oxidation
of alkane.
Calculation:
Calculate the value of standard enthalpy and entropy for the selected
reaction.
Spontaneity of reaction:
Analyze the Gibb's Free Energy equation to predict the effect of
temperature change towards the direction of spontaneity.
Determination of reaction temperature:
Suggest two temperatures in which the reaction is spontaneous and
non-spontaneous. Prove the reaction spontaneity by calculating the AG
at the two suggested temperatures. Relate the predicted spontaneity with
the calculated values of AG. State whether the prediction is correct.
[NOTE: Assume that AH° and AS° does not change with temperature]
