The terms Latin Americans and Hispanics have been used interchangeably but have different meanings; Latin Americans are people who belong to Latin American lands, whereas Hispanics are native Spanish speakers.
Hispanics and Latinos made notable contributions to the United States of America.
- The U.S. has more than 20% of people who are Hispanic and Latin Americans. They reside in the cities of Texas, California, Florida, and New York. More than 80% of Latinos and Hispanic Americans vote in Presidential elections in the States.
- Latinos and Hispanic Americans significantly contributed to the U.S. in terms of language and culture as Spanish speakers constituted 13% of the U.S. population. However, significant growth in the Latino population is seen since 1970.
- The contributions of Hispanic Americans are noteworthy in economic fields. According to the American Community Survey of 2017, they earn more and pay more taxes to the state.
