The synthesis of biological molecules takes place in cellular compartments in a series of steps that are guided by the command centre i.e., nucleus. DNA is present inside the nucleus which codes the necessary information needed by the biosynthetic machinery of the cell in the form of linearly arranged nucleotide sequences. The food that we eat contain all the nutrients as well as chemicals that are required for the assembly of biomolecules. All the cellular organelles such as Golgi apparatus, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, etc play an important role in synthesis, packaging and transport of the biomolecules inside as well as outside the cell. The energy required for the synthesis of biomolecules is generated with the help of mitochondria in the form of ATP.
