Based on Kohlberg’s theory of moral development, how would a person at Level 1 respond to the following moral dilemma?
the dilema:The doctor finally got some of the radium drug for Heinz's wife, but it did not work, and there was no other treatment known to medicine which could save her. The doctor knew that she only had about six months to live. She was in terrible pain, but she was so weak that a good dose of pain-killer like morphine would help her die sooner. She was delirious and almost crazy with pain, and in her calm periods she would ask the doctor to give her enough morphine to kill her. She said she could not stand the pain and she was going to die in a few months anyway. Should the doctor do what she asks and help her die to put her out of her terrible pain? Why or why not?
