As a society, we have so many resources at our disposal every day. Being educated in the 21st century is much different than it was 100 years ago. In today’s world being educated means constantly asking questions, reading, and researching in order to obtain the most current knowledge. An educated person needs to be a lifelong learner who has a passion for knowledge. Someone who is educated should be able to take the knowledge they have obtained and apply it to a broad range of topics. An educated person will always listen and take in as much information as possible before drawing any of their own, original conclusions. Those who are educated constantly ask questions to gain clarity and can think critically on their own. I think there are many types of people in many types of careers who demonstrate these qualities. All those who better themselves by pursuing knowledge are educated. In the NACE article, the author states that employers deem communication, critical thinking, and teamwork most important for college students to develop (Gray & Koncz, 2023). So far in my college career I have taken English classes and communication classes that have helped me convey information well. I think a large part of my interpersonal communication skills have come from working with patients every day and explaining treatment to them. I work with a wonderful team of women every day in my office, and I have worked on group projects with classmates that have developed my teamwork skills as well. As far as critical thinking, I hope to continue taking classes that will improve those skills. I believe many of the dental classes I took helped me develop critical thinking skills that have helped me plan treatment for patients. please help reply to this discussion post
