Deciding to go to college away from her family was a difficult decision and is the first time that she has been away from her parents. When she first arrived on campus, Adelina was excited about her prospects and was ready to start this new chapter in her life. However, shortly after arriving at college, Adelina had difficulties adjusting. She was unable to make new friends, did not participate in any social activities, and became very socially isolated. Adelina had never experienced anything like this, before entering college, she was outgoing and had numerous friends which she spent most of her time with. Despite her difficulties socially, Adelina was performing well in her classes and remained attentive to her studies through the first semester.
