Colorblindness is a X-linked recessive disease. The alleles of the trait are carried in the X chromosome. Let, XC be the recessive allele, and X be the normal dominant allele. Females with XCXC will be colorblind whereas those female having XXC(carrier) and XX will be normal. Since males have only one X chromosome, those having XCY will be colorblind and those with XY will be normal.
