A rigid container, perfectly insulated against heat, is divided into two compartments by a curtain. One of the chambers contains 0.1 m3 of nitrogen at a temperature of 50°C and a pressure of 200 kPa. In the other compartment, there is oxygen in a volume of 0.2 m3 at a temperature of 100°C and a pressure of 300 kPa. By removing the curtain in between, the gases are mixed. Assuming constant specific heats,
a) Find the final temperature and pressure of the mixture.
b) Find the molar mass and partial pressures of the mixture gas.
c) By removing the insulation around the rigid container, the gas mixture is heated up to 150°C. Find the final pressure, temperature change and total entropy change (T=25°C).
