A Construction Project
A maintenance building construction project also includes an external electrical generator and water tank. The first activity is to excavate which requires two weeks. Following excavation, the maintenance building will be built, and then both the generator and the water tank can be installed. These three activities, building, generator, and tank, require six, four, and two weeks, respectively.
Once this set of three activities is completed, the tank and generator can be connected to the building, an activity that requires five weeks. After the maintenance building is built, maintenance equipment can also be installed inside the building and this activity takes four weeks. Painting the maintenance building is also required, following its construction, and this takes three weeks. Finally, after the maintenance equipment is installed and the connection is completed, it will take two weeks to inspect the new maintenance facility.
What is the latest possible start time for the tank installation activity?

This is an example of the Activity-on-Node (AON) method of network diagramming.b. Activity F can start without waiting for the completion of Activity B.c. Activity B can occur concurrently with Activity D.d. To simplify the network, Activities F and G can be combined without changing the logic.arrow_forwardTo complete an assembly line in a factory, the major steps and seven activities involved are shown in table below. - For the activity on arrow network information given below (activity durations are givenin the table under part b): a. Compute the earliest event occurrence time (TEj), the latest allowable eventoccurrence time (TLj), and the event slack (ESj) for all nodes/events. b. Compute the four schedule dates (ESDij, EFDij, LSDij, LFDij) and the floats(TFij, FFij) for all activities.arrow_forwardManagers at the First Community Bank are attempting to shorten the time it takes customers with approved loan applications to get their paperwork processed. The flowchart for this process, consisting of several different activities, each performed by a different bank employee, is shown in Figure. Approved loan applications first arrive at activity or Step 1, where they are checked for completeness and put in order. At Step 2, the loans are categorized into different classes according to the loan amount and whether they are being requested for personal or commercial reasons. While credit checking commences at Step 3, loan application data are entered in parallel into the information system for record-keeping purposes at Step 4. Finally, all paperwork for setting up the new loan is finished at Step 5. The time taken in minutes is given in parentheses.Which single step is the bottleneck, assuming that market demand for loan applications exceeds the capacity of the process? You have discovered there is no Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) which is a project management tool showing a hierarchical decomposition of the work to be executed by the project team to accomplish the project objectives. When you talked to your project sponsor about the issue, he told you that nobody in the company even knows what a Work Breakdown Structure is or what purpose it serves. He also told you that the company has executed numerous projects in the past without ever using a Work breakdown structure. However, he asked you to prepare one just in case it is really a necessary project tool. A) Using a hypothetical project in the mentioned company, prepare a Work Breakdown Structure for presentation to your sponsor..
