Question
This is System Modeling & Simulation question

Transcribed Image Text:1. A computer center has two color printers. Students arrive at a rate of one every 8 ± 2 minutes
to use the color printer. They can be interrupted by professors, who arrive at a rate of one
every 12 ± 2 minutes. There is one systems analyst who can interrupt anyone, but students
are interrupted before professors. The systems analyst spends 6+4 minutes on the color
printer and then returns in 20±5 minutes. Professors and students spend 4+2 minutes on the
color printer. If a person is interrupted, that person joins the head of the queue and resumes
service as soon as possible.
a. For such case, explain what kind of queuing rule is being applied!
b. If you were asked to improve such case, describe your objectives and explain what
performance-measures would you use?
c. Following point 1.b., explain your plan to improve such case.

- One of the key tasks in metropolitan area transportation planning is to estimate the total number of trips made by households during a typical day. The dependent variable is the number of trips made by a household per day, known as the trip generation rate. Consider a hypothetical city, values of the trip generation rates and household income are listed in the following table.
