SOIL PERMEABILITY
An inclined square tube is filled with layers of soil as shown in
Problem No. 2 Figure (next slide). A constant-head difference is
maintained across the soil sample. The hydraulic conductivities of
the four soils in the direction of the flow are assumed as 3k1 = k2 =
1.5k3 = 2k4.

hour (k1 = 3.5 x 10-2 cm/sec).
2. Determine the elevation head (Z), pressure head (u/Yw), and
the total head (h) at points A, B, C, and D with respect to the
given datum.
