In probability theory and statistics, the logistic distribution is a continuous probability
distribution. Logistic distribution is the limiting distribution of the standard mid-range (average
of the smallest observation and the largest observation) in random sample of size n. Asn00
and can be considered as the mixture of extreme value distributions. Logistic distribution is used
to model data with a binary result (two possible outcomes). The location parameter which
establishes the distribution center, and the scale parameter are the two parameter that make up
the logistic distribution( which determine the spread of data). It is extensively used as growth
function in population. demography and time series analysis. The logistic distribution having

number of limitation including death of closed form solutions and a challenging estimation
process and the fact that it is challenging to estimate the parameter and that it may be sensitive to
outliers. The primary flaw with logistic distribution is that the cumulative function cannot be
expressed in closed form. One of the reasons that half logistic distribution was invented was try
to address some of the issues associated with the traditional logistic distribution. Half logistic
distribution is designed to be more efficient than the traditional logistic distribution.
The half logistic distribution is one of the probability distribution which is a member of the
family of logistic distribution. Since half logistic distribution is formed by using absolute
transformation therefore having much importance in statistics, physics, hydrology and logistic
regression. The half logistic distribution is a one parameter continuous probability distribution
kreating by folding the standard logistic distribution (this leads to alternate the folded logistic
distribution). It is equivalent to a logistic distribution with only positive value and a zero me
The widely used classical distribution is popular for modeling failure times of components. It has
decreasing density and increase failure rate with a reliability function. The distribution of a
random variables absolute value that follows the logistic distribution is called half logistic
distribution and it has the probability density function
