Samuel Adams was an American statesman, political philosopher, and one of the country's founding fathers. He was a colonial Massachusetts politician, a leader of the movement that became the American Revolution, and one of the founders of the ideals of American republicanism that created American political culture. He was a second cousin of President John Adams, another Founding Father.
John Hancock was an American Founding Father, businessman, statesman, and famous American Revolutionary War patriot. He was the first and third Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as the president of the Second Continental Congress.
