William W. Campbell (1806–1881)

Campbell, William W. A prominent American lawyer and historical writer; born in New York State, 1806; died in 1881. Settled in New York City, he was a judge of the State Supreme Court. He wrote: ‘Annals of Tryon County’ (reissued as ‘Border Warfare’); ‘Life and Writings of De Witt Clinton’; ‘Sketches of Robin Hood and Captain Kidd’; etc.
