Władysław Ludwik Anczyc (1823–1883)
Anczyc, Vladislav Ludvig (än’tsich). A Polish dramatist (1823–83), who lived mostly at Kraków, and wrote national plays which became very popular. The best among them are: ‘The Peasant-Aristocrats’ (1851); ‘The Inhabitants of Lob sov’ (1854); ‘The Raftsmen’ (1875); ‘The Peasants’ Emigration’ (1876); besides which he wrote ‘Tyrtæus,’ a poetical tale (1883), and many juvenile works, partly under the pseudonym “Kasimir Góralczyk.”
