Étienne Pélabon (1745–1808)

Pélabon, Étienne (pā-lä-bô‘). A Provençal poet; born at Toulon, 1745; died at Marseilles, 1808. He wrote a two-act comedy in patois verse (1790), which had extraordinary success. He wrote also: ‘Patriotic Reunion,’ in verse and in one act; ‘Matthew and Anne’; ‘The Sansculottes.’
