Samuel Osgood (1812–1880)

Osgood, Samuel. An American clergyman and author; born in Charlestown, MA, Aug. 30, 1812; died in New York City, April 14, 1880. He was the pastor of a Unitarian church in New York City from 1849 to 1869, when he resigned and joined the Episcopal Church. Besides translations from the German, his numerous works include: ‘Studies in Christian Biography’ (1851); ‘Mile-Stones in our Life Journey’ (1855); ‘Student Life’ (1860).
