Oppian (Second Century)

Oppian or Oppianus (op’ē-an). A Greek poet; born at Anazarbus in Cilicia; flourished under Marcus Aurelius. He composed a didactic poem, ‘On Fishing,’ in five books. The versification is smooth, the style ornate.
