Juste Olivier (1807–1876)

Olivier, Juste Daniel (ō-lēv-yā’). A Swiss poet; born in Eysius, Canton of Vaud, Oct. 18, 1807; died in Geneva, Jan. 7, 1876. In 1830 he published his first volume of poems, ‘Poèmes Suisses.’ This was followed by ‘The Future’ (1831); ‘Songs trom Afar’ (1833); and many others. He also wrote many works in prose. He spent most of the last years of his life in Paris.
