Joseph Pennell (1857–1926)

Pennell, Joseph (pen’el). An American illustrator and author; born at Philadelphia, July 4, 1857; died in 1926. Besides works written in collaboration with his wife, he published: ‘Pen Drawing and Pen Draughtsmen’ (1889); ‘The Jew at Home’; ‘Modern Illustration’; ‘Lithography and Lithographers’; ‘The Authorized Life of J. McN. Whistler,’ with Mrs. Pennell (1910).
