John Stow (1525?–1605)

Stow, John. A celebrated English chronicler and antiquary; born in London about 1525?; died on April 6, 1605. He was the author of a considerable part of ‘Holinshed’s Chronicles,’ and the world of letters owes much to his valuable historic works and minute researches. Among his works are: ‘Summary of the Chronicles of England,’ ‘Survey of London.’
