Henry Beebee Carrington (1824–1912)

Carrington, Henry Beebee. An American soldier and military writer; born at Wallingford, CT, March 2, 1824; died in 1912. Originally a lawyer, he became brigadier-general of volunteers in the Civil War, served in the West till 1868, and was appointed professor of military science at Wabash College, Crawfordsville, IN. He wrote: ‘Battles of the American Revolution’ (3d ed. 1878); ‘Apsaraka, or Indian Operations on the Plains’; ‘Battles of the Bible’; ‘The Americans and their Future.’
