Giuseppe Barbieri (17741852)
Barbieri, Giuseppe (bär-bē-ā’rē). An Italian poet and pulpit orator; born in Bassano, 1774; died at Padua in 1852. He was distinguished for the tasteful eloquence of his sermons. In ‘Little Poems,’ ‘Sermons on Feast Days,’ and ‘The Euganean Hills,’ he displays the resources of his well-stored mind with the utmost elegance.
