George Shepard Burleigh (1821–1903)

Burleigh, George Shepard. An American poet and miscellaneous writer; born at Plainfield, CT, in 1821; died in 1903. He is the author of ‘Antislavery Hymns’ (1842); ‘The Maniac and Other Poems’ (1849); ‘Signal Fires, or the Trail of the Pathfinder’ (1856).
