Frederic Beecher Perkins (1828–1899)

Perkins, Frederic Beecher. An American miscellaneous writer; born in Hartford, CT, Sept. 27, 1828; died in 1899. He received his education at Yale; studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1851. He was librarian of the San Francisco Library from 1880 to 1887. Among his works are: ‘Scrope; or, The Lost Library’ (1874), a novel; ‘Devil Puzzlers, and Other Studies’ (1877); ‘Life of Dickens’ (1877); ‘The Best Reading’ (1877).
