Ernst Dohm (1819–1883)

Dohm, Ernst (dōm). A German humorist (1819–83); born at Breslau. Foremost of his comedies is ‘The Trojan War,’ cleverly satirizing German political and social leaders. Other comedies and farces are: ‘The First Début’; ‘Instantaneous Portraits: an Unrhymed Chronicle.’ He translated La Fontaine’s ‘Fables.’
