Enoch Fitch Burr (1818–1907)

Burr, Enoch Fitch. An American mathematical and religious writer; born at Green’s Farms, Fairfield County, CT, Oct. 21, 1818; died in 1907. He graduated from Yale in 1839, and became pastor of the Congregational Church in Lyme, CT, in 1850. Among his works are: ‘A Treatise on the Application of the Calculus to the Theory of Neptune’ (1848); ‘A Song of the Sea’ (1873); ‘Aleph, the Chaldean’ (1891).
