Elizabeth Drew Barstow Stoddard (1823–1902)

Stoddard, Elizabeth Drew (Barstow). An American novelist and poet; born in Mattapoisett, MA, May 6, 1823; died at New York City, Aug. 1, 1902. She was the wife of R. H., and the author of three distinguished novels: ‘The Morgesons’ (1862); ‘Two Men’ (1865); ‘Temple House,’ illustrative of English character and scenery (1867); and ‘Lolly Dink’s Doings.’ (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
