Count Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy (1817–1875)

Tolstoy, Aleksii Konstantinovich, Count (tol’stoi). A Russian author; born in St. Petersburg, Aug. 24, 1817; died near there, Sept. 28, 1875. He wrote a number of ballads and lyric poems; one novel, ‘Kniaz (Prince) Serbrīanyi’ (translated by Jeremiah Curtin, 1893); a short drama, ‘Don Juan’; and a trilogy, ‘The Death of Ivan the Terrible’ (1865); ‘Tsar Feodor Ivanovich’ (1868), and ‘Tsar Boris’ (1870).
