Christian Falster (1690–1752)

Falster, Christian (fäl’ster). A Danish poet (1690–1752). His ‘Satires,’ modeled on Juvenal, give him eminent rank among the native poets. He wrote three volumes of ‘Philological Amenities or Various Discourses,’ containing interesting observations on affairs. His translation of Ovid’s ‘Tristia’ also is worthy of mention.
