Pichler, Caroline. An Austrian novelist; born at Vienna, Sept. 7, 1769; died there, July 9, 1843. Among her stories are: ‘Agathocles’ (3 vols., 1808); ‘Woman’s Worth’ (4 vols., 1808); ‘The Siege of Vienna’ (3 vols., 1824); ‘The Castle among the Mountains’; ‘Black Fritz.’
