Brooks Adams (1848–1927)

Adams, Brooks. An American essayist and politician; born at Quincy, MA, June 24, 1848; died in 1927. He is the son of Charles Francis Adams, and a lawyer by profession. Besides contributions to magazines, he wrote ‘The Emancipation of Massachusetts’ (1887) and ‘The Law of Civilization and Decay’ (1896); ‘America’s Economic Supremacy’ (1900); ‘The New Empire’ (1902); ‘The Theory of Social Revolutions’ (1913).
