Plumptre, Anne. An English miscellaneous writer, sister of James; born in 1760; died at Norwich, 1818. She wrote: ‘Antoinette,’ a novel; ‘Life of Kotzebue’ (1801); ‘Narrative of a Three Years’ Residence in France’ (1810); ‘Narrative of a Residence in Ireland’ (1817); many other narratives of observations in foreign countries, as South Africa (1806), the Ottoman Empire, Brazil, Japan, etc.; and several stories.
