Abraham Cahan (1860–1951)

Cahan, Abraham (kā’han). An American journalist and novelist; born in Vilna, Russia, July 7, 1860; died in 1951. He was editor of the New York Zukunft (Future). He wrote: ‘Yekl, a Tale of the New York Ghetto’; ‘Raphael Naarizokh’ in Yiddish; and ‘The Chasm.’
