Abel Evans (1679–1737)

Evans, Abel. An English poetaster and epigrammatist; born in London (?), 1679; died at Cheam, Surrey, Oct. 18, 1737. His wit was acknowledged even by Pope; and ‘The Apparition’ (1710) and fugitive stanzas made a hit.
